Is there an age limit on joining?
There is no upper age limit on a company-paid or company subsidised plan provided that the individual is still actively employed within your organisation. For employee funded plans, new members must be between 16 and 65 at the time of joining. There’s no medical required to join and premiums are not based on age.
Are pre-existing conditions accepted?
On employee funded schemes, pre-existing conditions in relation to Inpatient Stays and Hospital Daycase claims are always subject to a 12 month waiting period before benefit can be claimed regardless of any promotional offer that may apply to other benefits.
Will I get annual reports of the claims history of my organisation?
Yes, on request. Medicash are able to provide you with an annual report showing how many claims were made for each of the benefits by your employees, and the total amount claimed. However, for data protection reasons these will be group figures as we cannot supply figures on an individual basis.
What support do you give to your client companies?
You will have a dedicated account manager who you can call upon with any questions at any time, and to make the administration of your plan more effective and easy for you. In addition, Medicash can provide a wide range of support to help you promote our products to your employees including, workplace promotions, intranet and e-mail marketing, plus many more.
What do you do with your profits?
Medicash is a not-for-profit organisation that is run solely for the benefit of its members. Around 80% of our premium income is paid straight back to members in benefits, while any profits that are generated are either reinvested in the business, helping to improve our products and service for the future, or donated to health related charities through our two charitable trusts.
