Optical

We cover eye tests, prescribed spectacles and sunglasses, contact lenses, safety goggles required for your employment and laser eye surgery.

Routine Dental

We cover dental treatment and check-ups, premiums under a dental care (e.g. Denplan) contract, hygienist fees and braces provided by a dentist.

Specialist Consultation

We cover your initial consultation fee from a specialist consultant. This benefit can even be used against your excess on your PMI policy.

Diagnostic Tests

We cover diagnostic and investigative tests and procedures under the management of a specialist consultant or GP. We do not cover health screening or home testing kits.

Complementary Therapies

We cover physiotherapy including sports massage, osteopathy and chiropractic assessment and treatment.

Alternative Therapies

We cover acupuncture, allergy testing, homeopathy, Chinese medicines, reflexology, Bowen and Alexander technique, Indian head massage, reiki, hypnotherapy as part of a treatment plan and stop smoking treatments.

Chiropody

We cover chiropody assessment and treatment. We do not cover cosmetic and beauty treatments, pedicures or surgical footwear or appliances.

Hearing Aids

We cover the cost of hearing aids when they are supplied by a registered hearing aid dispenser. We do not cover batteries, retuning or repairs.

Inpatient

We cover you when you are hospitalised overnight for medical treatment or a continuation of medical care. We do not cover the first night or single night stays.

Parental Stay

We cover you when one adult covered by the plan stays with their child under the age of twelve when they are admitted as an inpatient. We do not cover the first night or single night stays.

Hospital Daycase

We cover any daycase admission to a hospital or recognised medical centre to attend an appointment for diagnosis, treatment, investigation or minor surgery. Your attendance must be pre-planned with no intended overnight stay.

Birth of a Child

We cover each child that you or your partner give birth to, or adopt under the age of 12 months. There is a 12 month waiting period before you can claim this benefit.

Online Health Screening

We provide access to an online confidential Health Risk Assessment which provides you with a personalised report identifying your potential health risks.

Discounted Health Club Membership

We provide you with access to health club membership at discounted rates at over 1,500 clubs nationwide.

Health Related Helplines

We provide access to 24/7 support on a wide range issues, including diet and lifestyle, infertility and family health advice.

Stress Related Advice

We provide access to 24/7 counselling on a wide range of stress related issues including debt, redundancy, bereavement and work-life balance.

Best Doctors Helpline

We provide an expert second medical opinion service for those members diagnosed with a serious medical condition to help confirm diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment plans.

Dependent children are covered if under the age of 16 or 19 if in full time education. Parental stay benefit is paid when a member covered by the policy stays in hospital overnight to accompany a child under the age of 12 as an inpatient, for dual plans only one adult is covered. The quoted premium rates are the total cost for cover and are inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) at the current rate. Should the rate of IPT change Medicash reserves the right to pass this on to members subject to prior notification. There are waiting periods for some benefits.
