Medicash backs LCPD Bid
Sue Weir is the CEO of Medicash and one of a growing
number of business leaders who have been appointed by LCDP as 'BID
Ambassadors'.
Medicash has been providing first-class health plans to
businesses and families for 140 years. With no shareholders, all
profits made are re-invested into improving products and services
for the benefit of members.
Sue Weir, says BID status will maintain commercial district
momentum.
"When Liverpool CDP was first established, it was with a clear
mandate to enhance an area of the city that had become largely
neglected and forgotten.
Four years later, the partnership, working closely with
Liverpool Vision, has delivered a wide range of improvements which
have combined to make the commercial district a more attractive,
safe and business-friendly place to live and work.
I am firmly of the belief that it is in the best interests of
all local employers to ensure that the work that has already been
undertaken to regenerate the area can continue to deliver real and
lasting benefits.
Bid status has the potential to offer networking
opportunities and a more business friendly trading environment.
In the current economic climate of public spending cuts and
uncertainty around interest rates and inflation this is much needed
and we could face serious consequences should we lose the momentum
we have built so far.
BID status will give us a great opportunity to build on what has
been achieved, allow businesses to have a say in what goes on in
the area and ensure that the vitality and quality of the commercial
district is maintained.
Throughout the rest of the UK, 98% of Business Improvement
Districts vote to continue to scheme after their first term which
demonstrates their value to members. And there is no reason why
Liverpool's Commercial District should be any different.
