GMG Radio tunes into Medicash
Leading healthcare cash plan provider Medicash has won a
contract to supply employee benefits to national radio group GMG
Radio.
Medicash has been signed up to provide health plans to 400 GMG
Radio employees. In addition to a wide range of everyday benefits
such as dental and optical care, staff are also able to access
complementary therapies and discounted gym membership.
GMG Radio's HR business partner Rachael Lewis said: "We wanted
to add to our existing employee benefits and Medicash were able to
provide a cost effective, comprehensive package which appealed to
our young, active workforce. Staff were asking for ways to improve
and maintain their health and Medicash allows them to do this. We
have a very talented workforce so it is crucial that we both
motivate and retain our best staff."
GMG Radio is one of Britain's leading radio businesses
encompassing the Real Radio, Smooth Radio and Rock Radio brands.
With nine stations across the country including Smooth Radio which
launched nationally in October this year, GMG Radio has one of the
largest regional footprints.
Chief executive of Medicash Sue Weir said: "GMG Radio is
committed to employee wellbeing and this is reflected in the way
they engage with their workforce and respond to their needs. The
Medicash plan allows employees to claim back costs of day to day
healthcare which encourages them to take a preventative approach to
looking after their health."
The contract with GMG Radio is one of a string of new business
wins for Medicash over the last six months, including DWF, Lees
Solicitors LLP, ACC Liverpool and Chess Telecom.
GMG Radio is accredited with Investors in People (IIP), having
attained the Gold award in three of their key sites and the group
is currently working towards the IIP Health and Wellbeing Award.
Their employee benefits package also includes a pension scheme and
flexible working hours. In addition, birthdays are given as a free
holiday and monthly staff lunches are paid for by the company.
