Liverpool Vision signs up Medicash

Liverpool's economic development company, Liverpool Vision, has signed a deal with healthcare cash plan provider Medicash in a bid to encourage staff to take a proactive approach to looking after their health.

The 50 strong workforce will now be able to benefit from a range of benefits including on-site health screening, discounted gym membership and a unique 'Best Doctors' service which allows people to access expert second medical opinion over the phone.

The deal with Liverpool Vision is one of several contract wins clinched by Medicash over several months.

Chief executive Sue Weir said: "Liverpool Vision is a good employer which takes its responsibilities to staff seriously and we are delighted to have developed an effective solution for them."

Alison Appleton, HR manager at Liverpool Vision, said: "We wanted to find a way to encourage staff to look after their health so we looked at several potential partners. Medicash is a well established local provider and worked with us to create a package that we felt would help staff to think about their health and wellbeing with a 'prevention is better than cure' approach. The feedback from staff has been very positive."
