Medicash take to the dance floor for charity
Healthcare cash plan provider Medicash is urging
Merseyside's community to dust off their dancing shoes and join
them in a salsa night in aid of The Roy Castle Lung Cancer
Foundation.
Medicash is one of 22 organisations joining forces to raise
money for the charity's £50 Challenge. sponsored by Medicash,
donations of £50 were given to each organisation taking part who
were set with the challenge of making as much money as they could
with it.
Medicash's salsa night takes place on Thursday 4 June at La
Cubanita in the City Centre and is open to anyone. Sue Weir, chief
executive of Medicash says; "This is a fantastic opportunity for
employers to encourage fitness in the workplace and raise money for
a good cause at the same time. Being healthy and active should also
be about having fun so we hope the salsa night will change people's
minds about exercise being dull."
Helen Raghu from The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation says;
"Medicash's salsa night is expected to be a big hit and will
hopefully raise much needed funds for the Foundation. We are also
very grateful to Medicash for sponsoring the £50 Challenge which is
proving to be a huge success with all the businesses taking part
coming up with some great ways to raise money."
Doors at La Cubanita open at 6pm where guests can enjoy a Mojito
on arrival, a one hour salsa lesson starting at 6.30pm, followed by
a Cuban feast and then dance the night away to a fantastic live
Cuban band. Tickets are £15, with £5 going straight to the charity,
and can be bought from La Cubanita or by calling Medicash on
0151 702 0261 or e-mailing marketing@medicash.org
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation works to defeat lung
cancer in the UK, and the £50 Challenge sponsored by Medicash will
help fund the charity's research into the illness, educational
campaigns and the support service the charity offers those affected
by lung cancer.
