Medicash
announced as major sponsor of St Helens RLFC
The newest major sponsor of St Helens RLFC (Saints) has been
announced as leading healthcare cash plan provider Medicash.
Liverpool based Medicash has signed an exclusive partnership
agreement with the Club which will see the brand emblazoned on the
Saints' away shirts. Medicash will be working closely with Saints
and the Saints Community Development Foundation which works
directly with more than 50,000 local young people delivering
programmes around health, sports coaching, local heritage and
education.
Chief executive of Medicash Sue Weir said: "We are delighted to
have entered into this exciting partnership and are looking forward
to the new season. We want our support to make a real difference to
the Club, its fans and the people of St Helens. Saints already does
invaluable work within the community and we are discussing a number
of opportunities to build on this and develop more projects
together which we hope will benefit a great many individuals and
organisations across St Helens and Merseyside. We think the new
away shirt looks great and we're hoping for a positive reaction
from fans."
Saints are one of the top rugby league clubs in the country and
arguably one of the most successful clubs around today. Finalists
in the European Super League Grand Final the team were also
semi-finalists in the 2009 Challenge Cup.
Saints chief executive Tony Colquitt said: "We are delighted to
announce our newest major sponsor as leading cash plan provider
Medicash. Sponsorship is critical to us in terms of funding and
development so the support from major sponsors such as Medicash is
crucial to more success this season. Both our organisations have
longstanding charitable and community links so there is real
synergy in the partnership."
