The Medicash Charitable Trust makes regular donations to health-related charities and has given away over £1million over the past 10 years. Below are just some examples of the campaigns that Medicash supports:

Community Foundation for Merseyside

Medicash has actively worked with the Community Foundation for Merseyside since 2006 when we launch our 'Good Health Fund' endowment with a donation of £25,000.  Since then we have topped this up to be worth more than £50,000 and invested almost £16,000 in Merseyside's communities to directly improve the health and wellbeing of local people.

Everton in the Community

Medicash has agreed to donate £25,000 to support the work of Everton in the Community, the official charity of Everton FC.  It is hoped that this donation will allow the charity to unlock a further £100,000 of matched funding in the near future.

To date, the first stage of the Medicash sponsorship deal has allowed the Blues' official charity to extend its sporting provision for disabled children across Merseyside, removing the traditional barriers which stop disabled people from participating in sport.   Read more here

Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation

Medicash has shown its support for the fight against lung cancer by donating £10,000 to the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. This donation will help support a research project at Kings College London. The research project aims to develop single molecule strategies to test blood samples, which it is hoped will help researchers to identify abnormalities in the blood that could be an early sign of lung cancer.  Find out more here

Tranmere Community Project

In 2010 Medicash commissioned Tranmere Community Project to research the skills needed to become a Five Star Parent. These findings were then fed into a Government review on Poverty and Life Chances. Since then Medicash has continued to support the Project's work with young fathers in Birkenhead by helping them to improve their own parenting and employability capabilities.

The Prince’s Trust

In 2013, we were delighted to support The Prince’s Trust. Our involvement has been far-reaching and transformative. This has included:

  • Funding one of our Liverpool-based Job Ambassadors for a total of six months
  • Strategic and fundraising support through Sue Weir joining our Merseyside committee
  • Staff involvement in our Zero to Hero challenge

And many others too…

The Medicash Charitable Trust also makes a lot of smaller donations to good causes. Recent donations have included £500 to BASIC (the Brian and Spinal Injury Centre) in Greater Manchester for its computer assisted rehabilitation environment, and more than £700 for the Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Appeal for DNA sampling for the early detection of breast cancer.

Please note that the Trust is currently only considering North West based applications.
