Medicash has just been awarded a prestigious security certification

ISO 27001 is the leading international accreditation recognising organisation that have demonstrated successful compliance with a series of stringent processes around information management and security.

The award requires businesses to adhere to a rigorous set of standards published by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) – the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards.

Sue Weir, chief executive of Medicash said: “We have always been committed to ensuring that all data, especially that of third parties, is handled and managed according to the highest standards possible. Achieving this accreditation is a reflection of our determination to strive for excellence across all areas of our business and it is a real accomplishment.”

Medicash was evaluated over several months where all its processes around information management were assessed. ISO 27001 is officially defined as the formal specification for an information security management system (ISMS). An ISMS is a framework of policies and procedures that includes all legal, physical and technical controls involved in an organisation’s information risk management processes.
