The UK’s leading provider of personal finance data, Moneyfacts, has announced that Medicash is a finalist in the Best Health Cash Plan category in the Investment Life and Pensions Awards, 2015.

And Workplace Savings and Benefits has placed Medicash on the shortlist for ‘Healthcare and Wellbeing Provider of the Year’ in the Workplace Savings and Benefits Awards taking place in September.

The Workplace Savings and Benefits Awards is the only award event to recognise both employer and provider excellence. The awards are designed to reward those that have delivered the highest level of innovation, performance and service throughout the past year.

The Moneyfacts Investment Life and Pensions Awards involve rigorous product monitoring which is carried out throughout the preceding year and the advisor community is also consulted for their feedback. The winners will be unveiled at a glittering awards dinner in London in September.

Medicash chief executive Sue Weir said: “Being shortlisted for such high profile awards is tremendous recognition from the advisory community and we are delighted with this news. We have had an exceptional 12 months and our strong focus on the intermediary market has delivered real results.”

The annual results published by Medicash this year revealed a record year of trading in 2014. An unprecedented 85% increase in take-up of corporate plans took the total number of Medicash policyholders to 170,000 – up 16% on the previous year. The company reported an increase in earned premiums from £20.7m in 2013 to £21.8m in December 2014.
